Cast Interview

Cast kazuna

Uemura Yuuto-san
as Masunaga Kazuna

Now that the recording has finished, outside of your own role, what other member made an impression on you or changed your previous perception of them?

This time, Osari in particular made an impression on me. I think his straightforwardness and that cheerful personality that allows him to enjoy anything with all his might shine even brighter while he and the people around him are burdened by many problems. There are scenes in which Osari, as if to pull them along, encourages the other members to do their best as well and I felt once again that he is an indispensable being for MooNs.

As for the other scenes, I was very impressed by the one in which tears well up in Momotarou’s eyes. He’s always cool and emotionally intact and I didn’t see him lying down his emotions before, so I was surprised. The exchanges during that scene made me realize once again that MooNs is a really nice group, not to talk about the emotional distance among the members, so exquisite and pleasant. I love this kind of MooNs.

In this game, each member gets an episode that focuses on the Bambi (trainee) days. Please tell us, without spoilers, if there are aspects you want us to pay attention to or that caught your eye.

During their Bambi days, MooNs members did not live together and did not call Masunaga “Leader”, so I felt a bit emotional about their lifestyle, which was totally different from the current one. You will be able to get a glimpse of their dormitory life, and I want you to pay attention to the small details you will find for the first time, who roomed with who at the time for example. Also, it was interesting to see each of their relationships outside their groups, like Masunaga asking Aizome for advice and so on.

I feel like Goushi also played a big role in my portrayal of Masunaga. Through their exchanges, I found out he is a person of shrewd ideas, which was very impressive. In the bonus drama there are dialogues between Goushi and MooNs and there are many things you cannot talk about with him.

That reminds me, when recording for this game Toyonaga-san, who voices Goushi, and I unexpectedly showed up at the same time one day! I’ve worked together with Toyonaga-san ever since starting to focus on my voice acting career, so we played around this time too. He raised my microphone by 1mm and then went home (laughs), I guess that that is also a good memory.

Masunaga’s older brother makes an appearance in this game, so if Uemura-san and Masuanaga were brothers, what kind of relationship would you two have?

This is difficult, but I feel like our personalities and the way we think are similar, so perhaps we’d be identical twins? I’ve portrayed him for many years and that made me think that I’d like us to be brothers who can understand each other, with the same point of views and same thoughts. Brothers… No, I guess identical twins is better after all (laughs).

During the scenes where Masunaga and his older brother interacted with each other, I portrayed him as a little brother, conscious of the fact that he becomes argumentative or that he is kind towards his brother without even realizing it. I have yet to hear (※At the time of the interview) Nojima Kenji-san, his brother’s voice actor, so I'm looking forward to the completion of the game.

Lastly, please give a message to Sumisora Tsubasa (A&R) with whom you overcome hardships in this game.

He was teased by his brother too, but from other’s point of view he’s practically close to her (laughs), so much that if they get any closer Tsubasa could snuggle up to him. He has never gotten to the core of things and he does not get things moving himself… so I have the impression that she has led him to properly face the problems he hasn’t overcome. And for that I want to tell her how grateful I am and to take care of him from now on too. I’m so glad you joined Gandara. Thank you for getting recruited (laughs).
